Cricket Viral Video: During his days, Navjot Singh Sidhu was widely known as one of the most explosive hitters of the ball. Often referred to as “Sixer Sidhu,” he had a reputation for consistently sending the ball soaring over the boundary ropes. On a similar note, he once smashed some big hits to the legendary Australian bowler Shane Warne.
Sidhu’s assault against Warne
In the year 1998, Mark Taylor led Australian cricket team for a tour in India. Men in Blue had won the first two match of the series and the third test match of the series was played at Bengaluru. The Australian team faced stiff opposition from some of India’s biggest names, including Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, and Navjot Singh Sidhu, who were all eager to secure a series victory against their formidable opponents. The stage was set for an epic showdown, with Shane Warne and the rest of the Australian team ready to fight tooth and nail to avoid a series sweep.
The third Test match of the series between India and Australia was played in Bengaluru, and after winning the toss, India chose to bat first. Navjot Singh Sidhu set the tone for the Indian innings with a well-crafted 74. Navjot slammed eight boundaries and three sixes. He hit several biggest shots in his knock, majority of which came specifically against Warne. In the second innings, he also smashed 44 off 62, hitting 6 boundaries and one six.

Although India managed to take a 24-run lead in the first innings, Australia bounced back to win the dead-rubber by 8 wickets and avoid a series sweep.
