Cricket Viral Video: Chris Gayle had initially been with Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL) but was released from the team after two unimpressive seasons. He remained unsold in the 2011 IPL auction. However, luck favoured Gayle when Dirk Nannes got injured in the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) squad, and they signed him as a replacement player. Gayle went on from being unsld to MVP of the season. He also hit a century in match against KKR and it showed the real friendship between Kohli and Gayle.
Kohli helps Gayle in getting his ton
Gayle’s first game for RCB was against his former franchise, and he made an outstanding contribution to their victory. He scored a brilliant hundred in a chase of 172 runs, with a bit of help from Virat Kohli. By the end of the 16th over, Gayle was on 97 off 51 balls, with RCB needing only 13 from 24 balls. Kohli hit boundaries off the first ball of the next two overs, taking the equation down to three runs needed off 17 balls.
Kohli then realized that Gayle was just two runs away from a century and played out four dot balls off Iqbal Abdullah’s bowling, not aiming to score, so that Gayle could get to his hundred in the next over. A wide from Abdullah got the equation down to two runs needed from the last two overs. Gayle hit a boundary on the first ball of the 19th over to complete a win for RCB and his maiden IPL hundred.
