Cricket viral video: Sachin Tendulkar, the cricket legend, commented on a video of an acrobatic fielding effort in a local Indian match. In the video, the fielder attempted to throw the ball in the air from the boundary line to stop a six but failed, and the ball went over the boundary. However, the alert fielder used his feet to kick the ball into the air and then inside the boundary line, where his teammate caught it safely. Sachin jokingly wrote, “This is what happens when you bring a guy who also knows how to play football!!” in response to the player’s excellent maneuver.
Calls for changes to the rules
Fans had mixed reactions to the catch, with one stating that it should have been a six, and the rules should be changed to consider “no part of the fielder’s body inside the boundary and has touched the ball more than once, then it should be an over-boundary.” Another fan commented on the cleverness of the fielder and their newfound understanding of why players play football for warm-up. However, some fans felt that the catch went against the spirit of the game and that the ICC should investigate.
