The widely renowned moment, however, was one of the six that came from his bat.

On June 8th, Nottinghamshire secured a victory against Durham, propelling them to the final of the North Group table in the T20 Blast. With five wins from eight games, they currently stand as the sole team in the North Group with ten points. After being put into bat by Durham, Nottinghamshire suffered the early dismissal of opener Joe Clarke without scoring any runs. However, Alex Hales and Colin Munro swiftly joined forces, forging an impressive 83-run partnership for the second wicket off a mere 43 deliveries.
Entering the crease at No. 8 with the score at 153-6 in the 17th over, Shaheen Afridi swiftly faced only seven deliveries and managed to contribute 11 runs to the Notts Outlaws’ total. His impactful shot over mid-wicket off the bowling of Bas de Leede proved significant. Afridi’s brief but valuable cameo elevated the team’s final score to 187-7, a formidable total that proved too much for the visiting side.

In his bowling spell, Shaheen Afridi bowled four overs, conceding 30 runs while capturing a crucial wicket. Interestingly, the dismissed batsman was none other than de Leede, who had been the leading scorer for Durham, accumulating a noteworthy 58 runs from 41 balls. In the end, Durham failed to reach the target, falling short by a margin of 26 runs and experiencing their third loss of the season. As a result, they currently occupy the fourth position on the table.
