Cricket Viral Video: In his prime, Shoaib Akhtar’s blistering pace struck fear into the hearts of all batsmen, causing many to hesitate and stay at the non-striker’s end. However, during one memorable match, Brad Haddin provided a moment of humor and surprise when he positioned himself almost behind the stumps to face Akhtar, leaving the crowd both amused and baffled.
Brad Haddin gets behind the stumps
During a T20 match in 2005, representing Australia A against Pakistan in Adelaide, Brad Haddin showed some amusing cricket skills. In a surprising move to unsettle the fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar, Haddin devised a clever plan. As Akhtar bowled a no-ball with the very first delivery of the innings, Haddin took the opportunity, taking two runs. Then, with the subsequent free-hit delivery, Haddin positioned himself behind the stumps and hit the ball over mid-wicket, leaving everyone astonished by this unorthodox stroke.
Haddin and his partner successfully completed two runs, further adding to Akhtar’s misfortune as the delivery was again deemed a no-ball, forcing him to deliver another free hit. Unfazed, Haddin once more positioned himself behind the stumps and attempted the same stroke. However, Akhtar cleverly bowled a yorker, leading to the dismissal of Haddin’s wicket. Since a bowled dismissal off a free hit doesn’t count, this comical sequence of events unfolded, eventually resulting in the batsmen running a bye off the delivery.

While the dismissal didn’t officially count, it still gave the bowler a satisfying moment as he effectively removed the batsman from the pitch, cleanly getting him out of play. However, Akhtar got his revenge later in the over when he cleanly bowled out Haddin once more, this time with a legitimate delivery.
