Cricket Viral Video: Face-offs and sledging in cricket are quite normal and also exciting for the crowd. However, sometimes player cross limits in doing so, thus, escalating the situation on-field. This happens mostly in test cricket. In 2017, when India was touring Sri Lanka, this kind of incident took place yet again. Sri Lankan batter annoyingly teased Shami which irked the bowler and also the skipper Kohli who was standing near to him. Soon, there was a confrontation between them and umpire due to their behaviour.
Faceoff between the players
During a match, Sri Lankan team captain, Dinesh Chandimal, and another player Dickwella had a conversation with Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin in between overs. Ashwin spoke a language that is understood in Sri Lanka and may have given some advice to the Sri Lankan batters. Later on, Dickwella began taking longer to prepare for the next ball, which made Mohammed Shami very angry. Shami stopped in the middle of his run-up, and the next time he bowled, he charged at Dickwella and said some things to him.
The energy in the crowd increased as they cheered every time a bowler and a batsman had a tense moment. Dickwella again took a long time to prepare for the fourth delivery, which made Shami angry. The umpires had to step in and talk to Dickwella about his behaviour. The Indian team captain, Kohli, was also unhappy and talked to one of the umpires. There was a lot of arguing and tension between the players, and the umpires had to ask everyone to calm down.

Despite Dickwella’s attempts to irritate the Indian team, Shami responded by bowling out Chandimal in his next over. Eventually, Dickwella was trapped in front of the stumps by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Eventually, the match ended in a draw.
