Cricket Viral Video: Faf du Plessis, a veteran opening batsman for the Perth Scorchers, made a significant cameo appearance in the Big Bash League’s eighth game of the current 12th season against the Hobart Hurricanes at Launceston.
Du Plessis plays a fiery knock
Du Plessis gave his team a good start tonight by opening the batting with Adam Lyth (10) in a 173-run chase. He scored 32 (16) with the help of three fours and as many sixes at a strike rate of 200. Du Plessis’ dismissal put an end to a 24-ball, 44-run opening stand. He was the first batter to be out while trying to continue his streak of boundary hits. Patrick Dooley of the Hurricanes, who was only in his third T20 match, took du Plessis for his second T20 wicket.
After playing three consecutive dot balls, a visibly irate du Plessis attempted to clear space for himself but utterly missed the ball and was bowled.
Fans praise Du Plessis’ impressive hits
The 38-year-old player played a remarkable inning tonight at Aurora Stadium, hitting several impressive smashes. With one hand coming off the bat, du Plessis stepped out to Hobart pacer Riley Meredith to flick a ball through the leg-side for his first boundary of the game.
In the subsequent over, du Plessis targeted Joel Paris after scoring a six on the next delivery to follow his maiden four. The right-handed hitter beat the left-arm bowler with two fours and sixes each during a 20-run over.
