Cricket Viral Video: Steve Smith, the renowned Australian batsman, is currently representing Sussex in the County Championship. Although he has struggled to score runs with his bat, he has managed to make headlines with an exceptional one-handed catch while fielding.
Steve Smith pulls off a stunner
Renowned for his exceptional batting skills and outstanding fielding abilities, Smith captured the attention of cricket enthusiasts with a breathtaking one-handed catch in the ongoing County Championship Division Two match between Sussex and Leicestershire. The 33-year-old showcased his fielding prowess by dismissing Leicestershire’s all-rounder, Rehan Ahmed. However, Smith is yet to make an impact with the bat, having only scored 30 and three runs in two innings thus far.
After being dismissed for 270 in response to Sussex’s first innings score of 430, Leicestershire were compelled to follow on. The team found themselves in a precarious situation at 65/4 but managed to stage a recovery, ultimately securing a draw as both Wiaan Mulder and Rishi Patel scored centuries to guide them to a total of 295/6.
In the meantime, Rehan, having scored nine runs, edged a delivery from pacer Henry Crocombe towards the right side of Smith, positioned at second slip. With agility and skill, Smith swiftly dived to his right, securing a remarkable one-handed catch to dismiss Rehan and bring an end to his innings.
