Cricket Viral Video: In 2014, during India’s cricket tour of Australia, Virat Kohli once again showed his skills, but, on Australian soil. He not only scored a lot of runs against the Australian bowlers but also became the full-time Test captain of the team by the end of the series. Kohli began the tour with two centuries in Adelaide and even though he struggled in the following match in Brisbane, he made a strong comeback by scoring 169 runs in Melbourne. However, the opponents tried their best to distract him with bowlers such as Mitchell Johnson even taking sledging and vicious means to discourage him.
Kohli and Johnson’s faceoff
During his tour of Australia, Kohli was performing exceptionally well and was on his way to scoring his third century. As is often the case in cricket, the Australian players attempted to distract and intimidate him through sledging. One such incident occurred during the 83rd over of the game when Kohli was only 16 runs away from reaching his century. Mitchell Johnson, who had been highly successful in bowling out England’s batsmen during the Ashes in 2013/14, tried to intimidate Kohli by throwing a ball back at him.
After being hit by the ball from Johnson, Kohli was certainly in pain, but he managed to regain his composure and hit a boundary on the last ball of the over. It wasn’t the first time that Johnson had hit Kohli during the series. In an earlier match, Kohli was hit on the helmet by a bouncer from Johnson. However, after that a minor clash happened between both of them and umpires & teammates had to step in to control the situation as Kohli was looking certainly very angry. Even the game got halted for a few minutes.

India faced a tough start to the series, losing the first Test match, and also losing the second game played in Brisbane. However, they managed to secure a draw in the third Test match. After the match, there was a shocking announcement by Dhoni, who declared his retirement from Test cricket. This unexpected decision meant that Kohli was given the captaincy role for the Test team. The fourth and final Test match ended in a draw, resulting in Australia winning the series with a score of 2-0.
