Harbhajan Singh’s brief cameo

The second cricket match of a two-game series was played in Wellington, and Men in Blue had already lost the first match by 10 wickets. They hoped to perform better in this match. However, in this match, the Indian team had difficulty scoring runs on the low-scoring pitch, and they didn’t even manage to score 100 runs in their first attempt at batting. In that same innings, a skilled player named Harbhajan played a small part, hitting five boundaries in one of the spells thrown by Bond, who was a good player on the opposing team. Harbhajan was part of the lower-order batsmen for India.

This incident occurred during a cricket match when the Indian team had lost six wickets and only scored 70 runs in the 33rd over of the match, which was being bowled by Bond, a very skilled player on the opposing team. Despite this challenging situation, Harbhajan started attacking Bond by hitting three boundaries in a row during the 33rd over. When Bond returned to the pitch to complete his spell, Harbhajan was still determined to keep the crowd entertained and hit two more boundaries during the 35th over of the match.

However, Bond ultimately won the battle against Harbhajan, and he got him out. Harbhajan managed to score 20 runs off just nine balls, which helped India reach a total of 99 runs in 38.2 overs. Speaking more about the match, the New Zealand team, led by Stephen Fleming, was dismissed for just 94 runs in their first attempt at batting. During this innings, Zaheer Khan performed very well and took five wickets while only giving away 29 runs, which was very impressive. In response to this, India could only score 154 runs in their second innings, and New Zealand won the match by four wickets, completing a clean sweep of the series with a 2-0 victory.
