Cricket Viral Video: In the recent County Championship fixture, Glamorgan’s opening batsman Eddie Byrom experienced a comical mishap while bowling his part-time leg-breaks. Unfortunately, his deliveries failed to generate the desired trajectory and rolled along the ground, resulting in a rather amusing spectacle.
Bowler throws a hilarious delivery
During the second-round match against Leicestershire, which was heading towards an inevitable draw, Glamorgan captain David Lloyd introduced several part-time bowlers, including Eddie Byrom, Marnus Labuschagne, and himself. Byrom, an opening batter, faced a challenging moment when his first delivery was hit for a six by Rishi Patel. Despite his previous success of taking two first-class wickets, Byrom was unable to replicate that feat in this match.
Byrom successfully bowled the first five deliveries of the over, setting the stage for him to bowl the final delivery of the match. However, as he approached the crease, he deviated from the usual release point, resulting in an unorthodox action. With his arm well past the vertical, he released the ball, causing it to make minimal contact with the pitch and lack any significant pace. The ball bounced twice on the pitch before pitching in front of Rishi Patel’s front foot.
Upon witnessing the ball, Byrom expressed his disappointment by raising his hands to the top of his head. Keeper Chris Cooke, on the other hand, initially hung his head in shame before concealing his reaction by covering his mouth with his gloves. The fielders positioned behind the wicket appeared particularly embarrassed for Byrom. The slip fielder, in a state of embarrassment, bent over and kept his gaze fixed on the ground as he walked away, while the leg-slip fielder dramatically collapsed headfirst onto the floor.
