Cricket Viral Video: The cricketing world witnessed an inning of unprecedented splendour on January 18, 2015. The day AB de Villiers attained GOAT status that will forever be remembered in history. The video clips of that innings by ABD have recently gone viral on social media. We are talking about the epic 149-run knock which he hit against West Indies in just 44 balls.
ABD broke the record of the fastest ODI century
Proteas were 1-0 up in the series until the match. The match began with South Africa batting first. The Proteas team had already got a good start with opener Rilee Rossouw scoring 128 off 115 balls. His wicket fell in the 38.3 over with the score being 247 for 1 wicket. Then, De Villiers walked out to the middle of the Wanderers stadium in Johannesburg with only 11 overs and three balls left in the match against the West Indies. In just 16 balls, de Villiers shattered the record for the fastest ODI fifty, leaving the crowd and commentators stunned in disbelief.
With unfaltering grace and skill, de Villiers went on to break the previous record for the fastest ODI century, reaching it in just 31 balls. And as if that wasn’t enough, he hit 16 sixes, equalling the record set by Rohit Sharma. He also smashed 9 boundaries in his knock. Along with him, opener Hashim Amla also scored 153* off 142 balls. The team ended up scoring 439/2 with three massive centuries. De Villiers was however dismissed for a score of 149 runs, otherwise, he could have etched the record of fastest 150 that day itself. South Africa eventually won the match by 148 runs.

Years have passed since that unforgettable day. But the memory of de Villiers’ innings still lingers in the minds of cricket fans. It was a performance that defied belief.
