Cricket Viral Video: Glenn McGrath, hailed as one of the greatest seamers in cricket history, was known for his prowess as a true No.11 batsman. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, McGrath’s contributions with the bat were minimal for the Australian team. With a Test batting average of 7.36 and 35 ducks to his name, McGrath often found himself batting at No. 11 in 128 out of his 138 Test innings. As the last man on Australia’s batting lineup, his primary focus remained on his exceptional bowling skills.
Glenn McGrath leaves everyone surprised
Unsurprisingly, McGrath’s batting attempts were greeted with applause from his teammates, often leading to fits of laughter that left them in tears. Such a moment occurred during the 2004 Brisbane Test match against New Zealand, where his teammates found his batting performance particularly amusing.
Before that game, McGrath’s highest score in 98 Tests was 39. However, in a remarkable display of skill, he and Jason Gillespie forged a remarkable 114-run partnership for the tenth wicket, propelling Australia’s first innings total over 500. McGrath himself contributed an impressive 61 runs to the tally. Among his notable shots was a powerful slog sweep off Daniel Vettori that sailed effortlessly over the thick square-leg fence at the Gabba. In total, McGrath hit five fours and a six during his innings.

As McGrath showcased his batting prowess, his teammates Adam Gilchrist, Damien Martyn, and Ricky Ponting couldn’t help but rise in applause. McGrath, on the other hand, wore a sheepish expression on his face, not accustomed to such moments of batting excellence. His fellow players, witnessing McGrath’s unexpected display of skill with the bat, erupted in joyful shouts from behind the safety of a glass pane. Remarkably, in his illustrious career spanning 376 international games, that six remains his solitary instance of clearing the boundary.
