Cricket Viral Video: Virender Sehwag has been one of the most explosive batter of Indian Cricket ever. His ability to score runs quickly made him one of the best in the field. However, many don’t know that he was also a well-skilled bowler. In 2008, he once took a five-wicket haul, that too, against the mighty Australia.
Virender Sehwag wreaks havoc with ball
In the third Test of the Indian leg of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in late 2008, the home team chose to bat first on a surface that was good for batting. They had a great time batting and eventually declared their innings at 613/7. Unfortunately, Ishant Sharma and Zaheer Khan were not very successful in taking Australian wickets. With only four frontline bowlers available, the team captain, Anil Kumble, had to rely on Sehwag for help.
In the match, Sehwag took crucial wickets with his clever bowling skills. He dismissed Matthew Hayden, Ricky Ponting, Michael Hussey, Shane Watson, and Cameron White. Sehwag got Hayden out when the batsman was adjudged leg-before by Billy Bowden in the second ball of the 58th over. He lured Ponting out of the crease, and the ball turned sharply, missing everything, only to land on the stumps. In the 102nd over, he castled Michael Hussey after pitching on middle and off. He then took the wickets of Watson and White with the way he made the ball spin.

When the visiting team was finally dismissed for 577, the part-time bowler Sehwag had given away over 100 runs, but he had also taken five important wickets in his 40 overs. This was a remarkable achievement for him, as he had never bowled so many overs in a single innings before, nor had he ever taken five wickets in an innings.
