Cricket Viral Video: In many ways, Kapil Dev was ahead of his time. He was a competitive player and remains one of cricket’s all-time best all-rounders. While he bowled some unplayable spells, played some magnificent innings, and won some great matches, some of his little moments are still vivid in the eyes of the fans. One such instance is when Kapil Dev struck four sixes to avoid the follow-on.
Kapil Dev goes all gun blazing
At Lord’s in 1990, it was a match against England. After deciding to bat first, England amassed 633 runs in the first innings thanks to skipper Graham Gooch’s amazing triple century and the centuries of Allan Lamb and Robin Smith.
Even though Ravi Shastri and Mohammad Azharuddin also scored hundreds, India’s effort fell short of England’s total because to the weak assistance from the other players. At 430/9, India was in trouble before Kapil Dev saved the day.
Before choosing to hit Eddie Hemmings for four sixes, India needed 24 runs to escape the follow-on. Kapil sped down the course and struck Hemmings over the long-on for the first two sixes. The third one was a little lacklustre but nevertheless succeeded long-on. The fourth six travelled the farthest, covering miles in the air.

When Kapil Dev made the fourth one, the players on the Lord’s balcony immediately began to applaud and he punched the air in delight. Unfortunately, despite Gooch getting another hundred in the second innings, India was unable to win the test, losing by 247 runs. But Kapil Dev’s four sixes in the game will live in memories.
