Cricket Viral Video: Glenn McGrath was right up there among true No.11s. Despite being without a doubt one of the best seamers in the history of the sport, “Pigeon” didn’t contribute much to Australia’s batting prowess in the 1990s and 2000s. McGrath, who batted No. 11 in 128 of his 138 Test innings and had a Test batting average of 7.36 and 35 ducks to his credit, was typically the last man on Australia’s batting list.
Glenn McGrath’s only six in 376 international games
It came as no surprise that McGrath’s teammates applauded every batting effort he made, occasionally making them laugh so hard they broke down in tears, as was the case during their 2004 Brisbane Test match against New Zealand.
McGrath’s highest score in 98 Tests prior to that game was 39. However, after 90 or so minutes of outstanding playing, he and Jason Gillespie established a 114-run tenth wicket partnership that helped Australia over 500 in their first innings as he finished with 61. A powerful slog sweep from Daniel Vettori that easily cleared Gabba’s thick square-leg fence was one of the five fours and a six he struck along the way.

Adam Gilchrist, Damien Martyn, and Ricky Ponting all got up to clap when they saw McGrath in full swing with the bat; McGrath himself had a sheepish look on his face. His colleagues, unused to seeing McGrath in full flow with the bat, yelled in joy from behind a glass pane. In 376 international games, it remains his only six.
