Cricket Viral Video: Rahul Dravid was regarded as The Wall of Indian cricket. And there is a good reason for that. When he was on strike, the ball was rarely used to get past him. His solid defense blocked everything.
In today’s modern cricket world, where the world resilience is losing its meaning. Dravid was a pure example of that. A player who had the ability to bat the whole day if that was asked of him.
And even the mightiest team had to bend their knees before his mighty defense. One such incident happened in 2008 when the whole Sydent crowd was on their feet after an amazing dry spell by Rahul Dravid.
Cricket Viral Video: The Ultimate Single
In the 2008 Sydent test match against Australia, Rahul Dravid played on 18 runs and started his dry spell of dot balls. Everything that was thrown at him was either defended or was being left for the keeper.
And soon, even the crowd started enjoying this barrage of dot balls. Every dot ball was cheered by the fans. They were clapping every time Dravid left the ball. It was a beautiful sight to watch.
And when the Great Wall Of India took a single after 40 dot deliveries, everyone was on their feet. Every fan cheered for Dravid and clapped. And The Wall acknowledged him by raising his bat.
Steve Smith Similar Feat
In 2020, Australian batsman Steve Smith achieved the same feat without a single run on board. Against New Zealand, Smith took 39 deliveries to score his first run, and once again, the crowd went bonkers.
A moment like these showcases how fun and entertaining a test match can be, even without scoring a single run.
