Cricket Viral Video: How frequently do we witness fast bowlers uprooting the stumps? It’s a common sight. However, it’s a rare occurrence to see a spinner shattering the stumps and sending them flying. Rashid Khan, the talented leg-spinner from Afghanistan, defied expectations during a Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) match when his delivery demolished the middle stump, proving us wrong.
Rashid Khan knocks off stumps
During a 2017 BPL encounter between Comilla Victorians and Chittagong Vikings, a 19-year-old player representing Comilla Victorians delivered a ball that shattered one of the stumps, compelling the umpire to replace it. Notably, the Victorians emerged victorious in the match.
Rashid Khan claimed the wicket of Dilshan Munaweera, who had been performing well but fell victim to the spinner’s googly. Munaweera could only score 19 runs off 25 deliveries. Khan’s figures stood at 1/17 in 4 overs, with his lone wicket being Munaweera. The Chittagong Vikings seemed to focus on playing out Rashid Khan’s 24 balls, offering little challenge to the talented bowler. However, Khan eventually succeeded in taking a wicket.

After losing Tamim Iqbal early with only seven runs on the board and a target of 140 runs to chase, the Comilla Victorians staged a recovery. Imrul Kayes and Jos Buttler played cautiously and steadily rebuilt the innings. Kayes came close to reaching his fifty but fell five runs short, while Buttler made a quickfire 44 off just 31 balls. Kayes, aged 30, was rightfully awarded the man of the match for his contribution in the game.
