Criminal wanted for murdering Suresh Raina kin killed in police encounter

The Muzaffarnagar police of Uttar Pradesh have killed the infamous crook Rashid (Rashid), accused of killing a relative of former cricketer Suresh Raina, in an encounter. A reward of 50 thousand rupees was declared on Rashid. He was wanted for the last two years. Some of the accused in this incident have already been arrested.

This encounter took place on Sahdudi road of Shahpur police station. In this Shahpur police station in-charge Bablu Kumar was also shot. Rashid has been killed in a joint operation by Shahpur police and Muzaffarnagar SOG. Rashid, a resident of Rajasthan, killed three people, including Suresh Raina’s aunt and uncle, during a robbery in Pathankot in 2020. The UP police had also declared a reward on him. Police have recovered a revolver, pistol and live cartridges from Rashid. In September 2022, the police arrested another accused in the murder case, who was identified as Kaka alias Shahzad. After the incident, Suresh Raina had demanded the SIT incident to the then Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh for investigation.

People sleeping on the roof of the house were attacked


On the night of 19 August 2020, with the intention of looting, the family of Raina’s uncle was attacked by robbers. Raina’s uncle Ashok Kumar was killed in the attack, while aunt Asha and cousin Kaushal Kumar died in the hospital. Two other people were injured in the attack. All of them used to loot by forming a gang. On the night of the incident, five accused had entered the house from the terrace. They saw three people sleeping on mats and attacked them. After this, they entered inside the house from the stairs and ran away after looting.
