CSK vs GT: On Tuesday night, MS Dhoni added yet another significant achievement to his extensive legacy by leading Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to their eleventh Indian Premier League (IPL) final. In Qualifier 1 at Chepauk, the four-time IPL champions defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) by 15 runs. The Titans’ adventure is still not finished, though; if they can overcome the winners of the Eliminator between The Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians in their upcoming match—Qualifier 2—they will have another opportunity to face CSK at the championship.
Controversial Incident Raises Concerns
Almost every expert during analysis agreed that Dhoni made the majority of his on-field decisions correctly as per usual. One particular event, though, didn’t sit well with the crowd, and even the legendary Indian batsman Sunil Gavaskar, who had gotten Dhoni’s autograph on his shirt a few days previously, couldn’t get over it. Before GT’s chase reached its fifteenth over, the incident happened. Dhoni was observed conversing with the umpires. Although the situation wasn’t quite evident at first, many people afterwards noted that the CSK captain had intentionally wasted time.

Dhoni’s Tactical Maneuver Delays Play
The umpire refused to let Matheesha Pathirana bowl his second over because the right-arm pacer had not been on the pitch for the same length of time as he had been off it. Dhoni, a shrewd caretaker, kept the umpires on their toes until the allotted time had passed while other CSK players surrounded the officials. Before Pathirana was allowed to bowl, CSK and Dhoni halted play for about four minutes. You accept the umpire’s decision, Gavaskar said in response to the event. Even if the umpire occasionally makes a mistake in high-stress situations.
