In the WPL 2023 final, Delhi Capitals captain Meg Lanning won the toss and chose to bat first. However, her team collapsed to 79/9 in just 16 overs, leaving them in a precarious position. The 10th wicket pair of Shikha Pandey and Radha Yadav managed to add 52 runs, helping DC reach a total of 131 runs.
In response, Mumbai Indians lost two early wickets, but the partnership between Harmanpreet Kaur and Natalie Sciver-Brunt of 72 runs revived their hopes of victory. After Kaur’s dismissal, Sciver-Brunt’s quick boundaries and a cameo of 14 runs by Amelia Kerr guided Mumbai Indians to a win in just 19.3 overs.
