DC vs MI WPL 2023: The Women’s Premier League match between Mumbai Indians Women and Delhi Capitals Women, which is currently in progress, has been completely won by Mumbai Indians Women, as star spinner Saika Ishaque completely changed the game’s momentum by dismissing both set batters Jemimah Rodrigues and Meg Lanning in the 13th over, putting Delhi on the verge of collapse. As Saika Ishaque quickly ended the threatening Shafali Verma’s batting during the power play, Delhi was attempting to resume their innings.
Ishaque’s Double Strike Sends Delhi Capitals Women into a Tailspin
Nevertheless, Ishaque struck twice as the team attempted to rally and surpass the 100-run threshold. First, she dismissed Rodrigues, then she claimed the valuable wicket of DC-W captain Meg Lanning. The team could not recover from Saika Ishaque’s over, and after losing two more wickets in the over after that, which Hayley Matthews picked up both Jess Jonassen and Minnu Mani, the wickets did not fall in Delhi’s favour.

Delhi Capitals Women Unable to Recover After Losing Set Batters
Ishaque, who had a strong start, continued to cause trouble after being reintroduced in the 13th over. The spinner successfully removed Jemimah Rodrigues this time with a similarly flighted delivery. The ball crashed into the top of the off stumps as Jemimah attempted to cut it away but failed. The next victim was Meg Lanning, the captain, who was once more looking well for her team. Saika Ishaque’s somewhat fuller delivery invited Lanning to step out and knock it over the covers, but she did not get all of the bat because Harmanpreet Kaur easily caught the misfired ball. Meg Lanning’s team has been reduced to 89 runs with the loss of 7 wickets in 15 overs, so clearly things have not gone as she had hoped after winning the toss. At this point, things do not appear to be looking well for the side.
