DC vs PBKS IPL 2023: In the second doubleheader of Saturday, Punjab Kings has defeated Delhi Capitals by a margin of 31 runs. The match occurred at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. Home team captain David Warner won the toss and chose to bowl first. Prabhsimran Singh slammed his maiden century (103) as PBKS managed to post 167/7 in 20 overs. In response, DC faced a batting collapse in the middle overs as they lost 6 wickets in a span of 20 runs. Eventually, they could post just 136/8 in 20 overs.

DC batters fall after stunning start
In the chase of 168, Delhi Capitals were off to a flying start in the match as they scored 65 runs within the powerplay without losing any wickets. David Warner roared back to form and scored valiant 54 runs off 27 balls, hitting 10 boudnaries and a maximum. Philip Salt accompanied him well with 21 runs off 17 balls.
However, just after the powerplay, Delhi Capitals suffered a massive batting collapse as they went from 68/0 to 88/6 within the next four overs. Mitchell Marsh scored 3, Rossouw scored 5 and Axar Patel was also dismissed with a score of 1 run. Meanwhile, Manish Pandey was dismissed for a three-ball duck.
Aman Khan and Praveen Dubey then stabilised the innings by scoring 16 runs each but failed to take their team ahead. Harpreet Brar shone with the ball for PBKS as he took a four-wicket haul while giving away just 30 runs in his spell. Nathan Ellis and Rahul Chahar picked a couple of wickets each.
Prabhsimran slams maiden century
Earlier, David Warner won the toss and chose to bowl first. They had a fine start as they dismissed Shikhar (7), Livingstone (4), and Jitesh Sharma (5) cheaply. In the powerplay, Punjab Kings could muster 46 runs while losing three wickets. Sam Curran played a small knock of 20 runs in 24 balls and steadied the ship.
However, it was Prabhsimran Singh who led the charge and starred in the innings with his maiden century. He scored 103 runs off 65 balls, hitting 10 boundaries and six maximums. Sikandar Raza scored 11* off 7 balls. However, as no other batter apart from Prabhsimran could do much scored, his team had to resort to a score of 167/7 in 20 overs. Ishant led the bowling unit of DC with 2 wickets while giving away 27 runs. Axar (1/27), Praveen (1/19), Kuldeep Yadav (1/32), and Mukesh (1/3) also chipped in with their contributions.
