Dinesh Karthik: The final T20I of the India and South Africa series resulted in a loss by 49 runs of the host. However, what Team India saw in the dugout following this loss was nothing less. Dinesh Karthik was observed applauding after India lost despite their setback. Karthik was observed by Captain Rohit Sharma doing this, and a video of what transpired is now widely shared. However, what Dinesh did was just diplomatic as many players clap after the match irrespective of win or loss to applaud the effort of the opposition team. South Africa batted first and scored 227 runs in 20 overs in the last T20 series game played in Indore. In response, Team India’s inning came to a stop on 178 runs as it approached the 228 run mark.
Before you watch anything, let us just point out that whatever transpired between Dinesh Karthik and Rohit Sharma was all in good fun. There was nothing significant about it. Following the loss, these images of India’s dugout were taken by the on-field cameras. You can see how, as Karthik applauded after the loss, Rohit Sharma punched him loudly in the back.
However, this dispute between the two did not end with a single punch; instead, the laughter persisted for a longer period of time. Dinesh Karthik and Rohit Sharma can be seen laughing after the game in a video that the BCCI posted.
