T20 World Cup Victory Parade: Team India, after clinching the T20 World Cup, returned to New Delhi today. The team landed at 6 am (IST) and around 11 am (IST) they met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Following this, they boarded Vistara’s special flight UK1845, which honored Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma by incorporating their jersey numbers. Upon landing in Mumbai, the team received a surprising and heartwarming welcome.
Special Water Salute at Mumbai Airport
As the team’s flight touched down at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, a special water salute awaited them. The water salute, a gesture of respect and honor, was organized by the airport authorities to celebrate the T20 World Cup champions’ return. This grand tribute is a tradition where water is sprayed over the airplane, symbolizing respect for the passengers and crew.
Grand Escort on Arrival
Apart from the water salute, the plane was also escorted by three cars. Two of these were electric vehicles, and the middle one carried a person holding the Indian flag. Behind this escort procession was the Vistara flight carrying the victorious Indian team.
