ENG vs PAK, T20 World Cup 2022: Ahead of the finale of T20 World Cup 2022, where England and Pakistan will square off, UK’s Prime Minister made a cheerful tweet. Rishi Sunak, the newly appointed prime minister of United Kingdom made a tweet just hours before both the team enter in the ground for the highly anticipated encounter.

Taking to twitter, Rishi said “Good luck to @englandcricket in the T20 World Cup final against Pakistan tomorrow. I’ll be cheering you on, along with every other cricket fan across the UK. We’re behind you all the way.”

Though, Rishi was just being cheerful to his team and country, the tweet did not go well with the Netizens and received mix responses from everyone.

Tweet receives mixed response from Netizens

“Speak for yourself @RishiSunak not on behalf of every cricket fan in the UK. We’re entitled to support any team we like not just because we live in England. Who were you backing in the India v England semis? Didn’t see you tweet “good luck to England for the semis”,” wrote one user while taking a jibe at him being of Indian origin.

According to another user, the UK PM is wrong when he claims that all of the country’s citizens will support the England cricket team. The user wrote “. “Or… just the English people. Why should “the rest of the Uk” need to be dragged in to this.”

England and Pakistan to clash in MCG

Today at 1:30 PM (IST), the England vs. Pakistan game is scheduled to start at Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia. Prior to the beginning of the game, the toss will be conducted at 01:00 PM (IST).

In order to advance to the final, England defear India by a margin of 10 wickets in the semifinals while Pakistan defeated New Zealand by 7 wickets. Since tournament began in 2007, Pakistan (2009) and England (2010) have each won the T20 World Cup once.
