Asian Champions Trophy 2023: India won the Asian Champions Trophy last night after a thrilling victory over Malaysia. It was India’s fourth Asian Champions Trophy title. It also made the Men In Blues the most successful team in the competition’s history.
India was trailing 1-3 against the first-time finalists at one point. But after a gritty and historical performance completed a sensational comeback, India clinched the title by 4-3 by the final whistle.
This victory made the fans attending the match emotional, and they were on their feet by the end of this spectacle. It was a sight to see when every person on the ground shouted ‘Vande Mataram’ at the top of their lungs. A truly goosebumps moment.
A Proud Moment
The official account of the Indian hockey team shared the video of Vande Mataram being shouted in the ground. The video mentions that as soon as the Indian team equalized with their third goal, the ground went into a flurry.
The whole crowd was so loud that you wouldn’t have been able to hear anything else. Everyone was singing the song ‘Vande Mataram’ at the top of their lungs, which was momentous.
The video also shows Indian players celebrating after scoring their third goal as they could again smell the victory.
Asian Champions Trophy 2023: A Thrilling Finale
The final match was action-packed as the first goal came in just the 9th minute as India took the lead. Malaysia equalized in the 18th minute, took the lead in the 28th, and later increased their lead.
India returned at the end of the third quarter after scoring two goals in 35 seconds. And in the 56th minute, they finally sealed the deal. India was unbeatable in the tournament.
