FC Barcelona: The Spanish football team congratulated the couple a day after actors Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor revealed their daughter Raha Kapoor’s name and shared a photo of a miniature Barcelona jersey. On Friday, FC Barcelona reposted the image that Alia had previously uploaded on Instagram on Twitter.
FC Barcelona shares a heartwarming post
The post’s caption read, “Congratulations, @aliaa08 and Ranbir Kapoor!! A new Barca fan is born (baby emoji). We can’t wait to meet you all in Barcelona.” Fans responded to the tweet after the football team posted the same photo and greeted the couple. A user wrote, “Just the greatest club in the world blessing a child.” Meanwhile, another user wrote, “This is big! FC Barcelona wishing Ranbir and Alia.”
Ranbir is a die-hard FC Barcelona fan. A Barcelona shirt with Lionel Messi’s autograph was given to him by the team a few years back. Ranbir and Messi met in Barcelona in 2011. He was once quoted saying, “I’m just an actor, Messi is a Rockstar… If I wasn’t an actor, I would have played professional football. Or at least struggled to get into the team.”
Alia-Ranbir reveal the name of their babygirl
On November 6, Alia and Ranbir gave birth to their first child, a girl. Thursday saw Alia posting a photo to Instagram. Raha was written on a small FC Barcelona football jersey that was hanging on the wall when Ranbir was holding the newborn in the blurry photograph.
Taking to Instagram, she wrote “The name Raha (chosen by her wise and wonderful Dadi) has so many beautiful meanings… Raha, in its purest form means divine path, in Swahili she is Joy, In Sanskrit, Raha is a clan, In Bangla -rest, comfort, relief, in Arabic peace, it also means happiness, freedom & bliss. And true to her name, from the first moment we held her – we felt it ALL! Thank you Raha, for bringing our family to life, it feels as though our lives have only just begun.”
In June of this year, the couple announced their pregnancy. After dating for a few years, Alia and Ranbir got married on April 14, 2022. The couple wed at their home in Bandra, Vastu.
