FIFA World Cup 2022: Food waste, cups, and wrappers are left behind in the stands following an intense World Cup football game by the passionate spectators. During the first game between Ecuador and the host nation Qatar on Sunday, the same event occurred at Doha’s Al-Bayt Stadium.
Japanese fans stayed back after the game
After the game, however, the Japanese spectators made the decision to remain and assist with stadium cleanup. Social media users who saw it left thousands of comments on the video of their deed, which immediately became popular.
Omar Al-Farooq, a Bahraini content creator, first shared the video on Instagram, from whence it spread to other social media sites. The video shows Japanese fans cleaning the stands after the crowd has departed the stadium while armed with big trash bags. To leave the area as tidy as they had found it, the Good Samaritans marched along the rows, gathering up the bottle and other items.
We do not leave rubbish behind: Japanese fans
When he sees them, Al-Farooq appears to inquire, “Why are you doing this?” “We are Japanese, and we do not leave rubbish behind us, and we respect the place,” one of the Japanese men replies.
Additionally, they gathered the flags that the jubilant crowd had thrown into the stadium, stating that “these command respect.”
Video becomes an instant-hit worldwide
The video was posted almost a day ago and has received over 9.4 million views with over six lakh likes.
Following a match between Japan and Colombia in 2018, similar behaviour was displayed by the Japanese fans. They were eager to clean up the stadium after the game, which impressed people all over the world.
