Sunil Chhetri: Indian football team skipper Sunil Chhetri has an enormous following amongst cricket fans, which has been evident several times. Now, In a video shared by Deepak Chahar on his Instagram story, Sunil Chhetri was spotted facing the bowler at the nets on Tuesday. The Indian football legend, currently ranked fourth in the all-time international goalscorers list after Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, donned the proper cricketing gear and demonstrated his skill by expertly defending a short ball from Chahar.

Sunil Chhetri dons up new sport

Recently appointed as the captain of the Indian men’s football team for the Asian Games 2023, Sunil Chhetri will lead the charge alongside esteemed players like Sandesh Jhingan and Gurpreet Singh Sandhu. Chhetri’s exceptional leadership skills have been instrumental in inspiring his team to secure three consecutive trophies in 2023.

At present, Chhetri holds the impressive third position on the list of active international goal scorers, with only Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi ahead of him. The captain of Bengaluru FC showcased his versatility by donning cricket jersey and skillfully defending a short ball from Chahar. The pictures from the session are going viral on the internet now. With the photo, Deepak also wrote, “Well played bhaiya @chetri_sunil11. Sportsman se koe bhi game khilva lo.” It roughly translates to the sheer fact that he can excel in any sport.

Deepak Chahar in NCA

On the other hand, Deepak Chahar, who was a part of the Chennai Super Kings’ victorious IPL 2023 campaign, has experienced a setback in his career. Reported to be injured, the talented bowler hasn’t been included in any upcoming outings, including the India vs WI and India vs Ireland series. Currently focused on his recovery process, Chahar is undergoing rehabilitation at NCA in Bangalore, where he has found a motivating partner in the Indian skipper.
