Surya Kumar Yadav wants the new Indian team to start from the scratch after the T20i World Champions and called it a history.

Surya Kumar Yadav had a blistering start to his new captaincy career as the Men In Blues defeated Sri Lanka by 43 runs. It was also the first match of Gautam Gambhir as the new coach and we saw some different things.

While this young team kept the aggressive approach of the old squad the same, there was a clear difference in the bowling department. Riyan Parag was given some crucial overs in the match.

We don’t know whether it was a forced decision or a thing that Sky and Gambhir wanted. But one thing for sure is that both of them want this team to be theirs and play like themselves and want nothing to be owed to the past.

‘Forget About T20 World Cup’

Just a month ago, India won the T20i World Cup after 17 long years and Surya Kumar Yadav was one of the heroes of that campaign. But the new Indian skipper does not want the young squad to think about that.

During the toss, Sky stated that this new team will start from scratch. He demanded the youngsters to forget about the World Cup triumph and called it a history.

He stated “The pitch looks good, and it is fine to bat first. The brand of cricket remains the same. The relationship me and Gambhir have had for so many years is special. The World Cup is history; we start from scratch, and it is a new challenge.”

Surya Kumar Yadav Show

It was the Sky show at Kandy during the first T20i match. He scored a blistering half-century and bagged the MOTM award for himself. It was the perfect start to the Sky-Gauti era in T20I.
