Former Australian cricketer Micheal Hussey, who was the part of Chennai Super Kings coaching unit has tested positive for COVID-19 in Chennai. Currently he is undergoing treatment in a hospital in Chennai.
CSK bowling coach Laxmipathy Balaji was also found positive for coronavirus and he is also admitted in the same hospital. Both the support staffs were in the newly list of players and staffs testing positive for coronavirus.
Australian Cricketers Association chief executive Todd Greenberg was quoted by ESPNcricinfo as saying that Mike was in isolation in his hotel room and is being looked after well. He also stated that Mike’s symptoms are mild.
On 4 May, the Board of Control for Cricket in India decided to postpone IPL 2021 after KKR’s Varun Chakraborty and Sandeep Warrier, Preceded Krishna and Tim Seifert also reported positive for COVID-19
The Indian board is currently looking for a window to complete the remainder of the tournament. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has already said that hosting the remaining matches of IPL in India will be a difficult task.
