Former England striker Jimmy Greaves has passed away at the age of 81 on Sunday.
Greaves was the part of the England team that won FIFA World Cup in 1966.
He scored a total of 44 goals in 57 appearences for England. He also hold the record of most goals in the English top flight with 357.
He has the record gols for Tottenham Hotspur as he got 266 goals in 379 matches for Tottenham.
“We are extremely saddened to learn of the passing of the great Jimmy Greaves, not just Tottenham Hotspur’s record goalscorer but the finest marksman this country has ever seen. Jimmy passed away at home in the early hours of this morning, aged 81,” tweeted Hotspurs.
UK PM Boris Johnson also tweeted and expressed grief on the legendary footballer’s demise.
