Prithvi Shaw: Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw was involved in a car chase after getting into an argument over a picture request in Mumbai. During the confrontation, eight people were listed in a police report for breaking the windscreen of Shaw’s BMW and extorting 50,000 ($678) by threatening to submit a false police report. Actress and social media influencer Sapna Gill is one of the defendants and has been detained.
Sapna Gill’s background and alleged actions
Sapna Gill, a social media influencer from Chandigarh who has appeared in Bhojpuri movies, has over 219,000 Instagram followers. She posts entertainment, dance, and fashion-related articles from her home in Mumbai. The fight allegedly started when two admirers, including Sapna Gill and Shobhit Thakur, approached the player for a selfie at a posh hotel close to the Mumbai Airport. Shaw had to phone the hotel manager to get them removed when they resisted being removed after a few photos and requested more.

The car chase and attack
The cheering crowd awaited Prithvi outside, and when he emerged from the hotel they surrounded him with baseball bats. The fans pursued Prithvi and his companion as they fled, stopped the vehicle at a stop sign close to Oshiwara, and cracked the windscreen. Then, threatening to submit a false police report, they wanted 50,000. The accusations have been refuted by Sapna and her buddy.
Arrest and police case
Once Prithvi submitted a formal complaint to the Bombay police, Sapna was taken into custody. Extortion, criminal intimidation, rioting, and other felonies are among the charges brought against her. The other suspects connected to the incident have not yet been detained by the police, who are still looking into the situation.
