ICC T20 World Cup 2024: India has a massive pool of talented cricketers. Marcus Stoinis has famously stated that the players not playing in the Indian team are more talented than him.
That is how massive the competition in India is. That is why many players are always stuck at the domestic level of India. Some players make their name there or struggle it out, but some players opt for a different route.
Be it for personal reasons, or professional, there are many Indian player who changes their nationality to play for a different team. You might think Rachin Ravindra is like that, but that is not true as he never represented the Indian team at any stage.
But here are 5 former Indian players who will play against India in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
5 Indian Players Who Will Play Against India
Pargat Singh: The former Punjab player played for his Ranju side in 2015-16 season. He was also part of the Punjab side in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for one match before migrating to Canada. He will now represent Canada in the upcoming tournament and is in the same group as India.
Milind Kumar: Another former Indian player who is in the same group as India. Milind has had a decent career in India, and he used to play club cricket for Delhi and Sikkim.
He was also part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Daredevils in the IPL. And now he plays franchise cricket for Texas Super Kings in Major League Cricket (MLC). He will be part of the USA side in the World Cup.
Harmeet Singh: A surprising fact to know is that the Mumbai-based player has represented India in an Under-19 World Cup. He has played domestic cricket for Mumbai and Tripura and will be part of the USA team in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Monank Patel: This former Gujarat wicket-keeper will lead the USA side in the World Cup. He moved to the USA and 2016 and has been their best player in this format for a while now.
He was also the top scorer for his side when the USA defeated Bangladesh in a historic T20i match and clinched their first series victory against them.
Saurabh Netravalkar: Another player who represented the Indian team in the U-19 World Cup. The left-arm pacer is also a part of the USA side and is one of the main bowlers for them.
He has been impressive in the past few seasons while playing for Gulf Giants in ILT20 and Washington Freedoms in Major League Cricket.
