From Virat Kohli to Sachin Tendulkar, cricketers urge Indians to stand together in this hour of disagreement

Indian prominent names, mostly from cricket fraternity, were irked with Rihanna’s tweet after the pop star took to Twitter to bring attention to the ongoing farmers’ protest in India. From Sachin Tendulkar to Virat Kohli and many others, Twitter was stormed with many cricketers being upfront about India’s unity while asking foreign celebs to not indulge in country’s internal matters.

Taking to Twitter, Sachin Tendulkar chipped in his opinion as he wrote, “India’s sovereignty cannot be compromised. External forces can be spectators but not participants. Indians know India and should decide for India. Let’s remain united as a nation.”

The movement was also joined by India skipper Virat Kohli who urged his followers to stay united in this hour of disagreements while adding that farmers are integral part of our country.

“As the world’s largest democracy, India is more than capable of taking her internal issues to amicable solutions. Onwards and upwards. #IndiaTogether #IndiaAgainstPropaganda,” wrote former India captain Anil Kumble as he joined the India Against Propaganda campaign.

India vice captain Rohit Sharma asked for togetherness as he wrote, “India has always been stronger when we all stand together and finding a solution is the need of the hour. Our farmers play an important role in our nation’s well being and I am sure everyone will play their roles to find a solution TOGETHER. #IndiaTogether”

“Agriculture is a very important part of the machinery of the Indian economic system. Farmers are the backbone of any country’s ecosystem. This is an internal matter which I’m sure will be resolved through dialogue. Jai Hind #IndiaStandsTogether#IndiaAgainstPropoganda,” wrote India head coach Ravi Shashtri.

These tweets from cricketers come after an official statement from Ministry of External Affairs that said India is more than capable in handling its own matter and foreign celebs’ interest is unrequited.
