Ganguly likely to attend review meet of Bengal team

Former Indian captain and Cricket Association of Bengal President Sourav Ganguly might attend the state cricket review meet on Thursday.

“I would also personally request Sourav Ganguly to attend the meeting, if possible,” said current CAB president Avishek Dalmiya.

Recently Bengal has failed to qualify for the knock-out stages of the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy. Bengal lost three of the five group matches in the Vijay Hazare Trophy which resulted in failing the team in the ultimate result of the tournament.

“Thereafter, the CAB would restructure the support staff of the Bengal senior and under-23 teams. Chief coach Arun Lal would be part of the scheme of things,” said Dalmiya.

There have been many issues in the recent past and the one of the main is the issue of age fraud, when it comes to submitting false documentations to play the junior level tournaments.

“CAB is deeply concerned about the alleged unfair practices happening in local cricket and would make the best endeavor to address the issues,” Dalmiya said.
