If the appointment of Gautam Gambhir as India’s next head coach takes place, one thing is for certain we will see lots of changes in the squad for the upcoming tours and series.

Gambhir has always been an advocate of young players and has always preferred form over names. According to reports he has already asked BCCI for separate teams in white and red ball cricket and the board has agreed.

He has also demanded his coaching staff and BCCI has already approached Jonty Rhodes in that regard. Several media reports also came out on Wednesday that Gambhir has big plans for the upcoming series and tours of the Indian team.

Gautam Gambhir Demands!

Several media reports have confirmed that Gambhir already has plans for the three upcoming series of Indian teams. He is planning to send a full-strength squad against Sri Lanka in August.

Meanwhile, he is ready to give chances to youngsters against Zimbabwe and Afghanistan. According to sources, the five T20I match series against Zimbabwe will see the debuts of many young starlets who have impressed everyone in the domestic circuit.

Players like Abhishek Sharma, Harshit Rana, Riyan Parag, Mayank Yadav, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Yash Dayal, and a few others are expected to get a call-up in that series.

Shreyas Iyer Returns?

The biggest news that is coming out is that the management has decided to recall Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan first time after they were removed from the BCCI Central Contract list.

Shreyas was removed from the list because he was not ready to play Ranji Cricket and it was a huge debacle. But with a sensational 90 in the Ranji Trophy final and IPL 2024 success, his return was imminent.

Ishan Kishan on the other hand was excluded due to some disciplinary issues. But now that the issues have been resolved, we can see him make his return as the second keeper in the shortest format of the game.
