GG vs DC WPL 2023: The match between Gujarat Giants and Delhi Capitals is currently underway at the DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai. Earlier, GG won the toss and opted to bat first, and it seems that the decision has backfired significantly. Thanks to Marizanne Kapp’s fifer in her spell of four overs, the team has been put in backfoot within the powerplay itself even after winning the toss.
Marizanne Kapp’s havoc in WPL 2023
South African bowler Marizanne ensured that her team gets a flying start as she came to bowl the first over. Just on the second delivery of the match, she bowled out opener Meghana. She came to bowl in the third over then, and she picked up two wickets on consecutive balls. She first dismissed the star batter Wolvaardt on the second ball.
Then, just on the next ball, she dismissed Gardner for a duck through LBW. She then came back to bowl the fifth over and dismissed the dangerous looking Harleen Deol on the fourth ball for a score of 20 runs off 14 balls. This, left Gujarat reeling at 28.5 within powerplay as Shikha Pandey also took the wicket of Hemalatha in fourth over. Later, she arrived for the last over of her spell and took the wicket of Sushma Verma by bowling her out. She ended her spell with five wickets in four overs along with 15 runs.
