Vini Raman: Glenn Maxwell is at the top of the world right now. He was one of the main heroes of Australia in the ODI World Cup 2023. He might not be having the best IPL 2024 so far, but he can turn that all around.
Many Indian fans who were sad and frustrated after the Indian team loss, lashed out at Glenn Maxwell’s wife Vini Raman. That was because Vini is actually of Indian origin but was supporting Australia because that is where she was born and her husband plays in that country.
There was nothing wrong with Vini supporting Australia and her classy response to all the hateful messages won the hearts of many Indians.
Who Is Vini Raman?
Vini is a pharmacist by profession and has her roots in South India. Her parents migrated from India to Melbourne, where she was born in 1993. The love story of Maxwell and Vini is a rather cute one.
The couple met at a Melbourne Stars event in 2013 for the first time and from then a special connection began. Both of them kept the relationship under wraps till 2017 when Vini posted a pic with Maxwell for the first time.
The couple got engaged in 2022 after the Australian Cricket Awards. Maxwell wanted to propose Vini at the beach but due to some circumstances, he had to do that in a public park in front of many onlookers.
Post-World Cup Hate!
After Australia’s victory in the ODI World Cup, Vini received a lot of unnecessary hate. All this was uncalled for and Vini responded with a post on Instagram.
The post read “…aaaaand cue all the hateful vile DMs. Stay classy. Can’t believe this needs to be said BUT you can be Indian and also support the country of your birth where you have been raised and more importantly the team your husband plus the father of your child plays in #nobrainer. Take a chill pill and direct that outrage towards more important world issues.”
