GT vs KKR IPL 2023: During today’s match between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Gujarat Titans, Rinku Singh managed to pull off one of the most memorable and greatest run chases ever by leading his team to a three-wicket victory. In the final over of the innings, Rinku hit five consecutive sixes, pulling off the victory from the jaws of defeat.
Rinku Singh’s Brutal Assault in last over
Riding on the knock of Venkatesh Iyer’s 24 ball 63*, GT made a score of 203 runs in 20 overs. In response during the chase, the game came down to the last over with Kolkata requiring 29 runs to win. Umesh Yadav started the over with a single off Yash Dayal’s first ball. Rinku Singh then took charge and hit a full-toss outside off-stump over the long-off boundary. The next delivery was another full-toss, but lower and on leg-stump. Rinku flicked it over behind deep square-leg, scoring another six.
Dayal was now under immense pressure and bowled another full-toss outside off, which Rinku cleared over the long-off fence again, making it three sixes in a row. Although Dayal tried to adjust his length, he still bowled it too short, and Rinku capitalized on it by hitting a loose one outside off over long-on.
As the match came down to the final ball, Kolkata only required four runs to win. Dayal again bowled a short ball, and Rinku hit it straight down the ground for a fifth consecutive six. This stunned Gujarat Titans, who were handed their first defeat of the IPL 2023.

Rinku remained unbeaten on 48 off 21 balls and impressively hit boundaries in the last seven balls he faced. This is one of the greatest run chases in the history of tournament. This was also the first time that 29 runs were chased off in the last over as he also became just fifth batter to smash five sixes in an over.
