Tonight, against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, he has the opportunity to add even more great memories to his birthday by winning the IPL 2024 trophy.

Sunil Narine’s Prime and Recent Form

Narine was known as an unplayable off-spinner in his prime. He has also been a dangerous opener lately, displaying his batting ability in several IPL games. His outstanding play this season has been essential in securing KKR’s position in the final for the team.

Narine’s Century in IPL 2024

This season, in a pivotal game, KKR lost opener Phil Salt for 21 runs in the fourth over. At that moment, very few could have projected a score of more than 200. But Narine rose to the occasion and struck a brilliant century. In just 56 balls, he scored 109 runs while hitting 13 boundaries and 6 sixes. In his four-over performance, Narine claimed two wickets for 30 runs, demonstrating his skill with the ball as well. In this high-scoring match, Jos Buttler’s 107-run innings helped Rajasthan Royals win by two wickets despite his best efforts.

Key Performances in IPL 2024

The 2024 Indian Premier League saw Narine get his first fifty runs on the road against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). He helped KKR score 140 runs in only 12 overs by scoring 81 runs off 39 balls. The squad easily won by 98 runs after scoring an enormous 235 runs. Ayush Badoni, a batsman for the LSG, was dismissed by Narine, who took his wicket at 1/22.

Another noteworthy effort came when Narine defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) at home to get his second fifty of the year. He scored 71 runs, joining Philip Salt in a 140-run partnership. Nine fours and four sixes in his 32-ball innings helped KKR score 261 runs in 20 overs. But Jonny Bairstow’s unbroken 108 helped PBKS to a dramatic eight-run victory despite their outstanding score.
