Harbhajan Singh: After listening to Maulana Tariq Jameel, Inzamam-ul-Haq, the former captain of the Pakistani squad, recently infuriated former Indian bowler Harbhajan Singh by claiming that the Indian cricketer was on the verge of converting to Islam. Harbhajan Singh resorted to social media site X to vent his anger at Inzamam-ul-Haq for his remarks since he was so incensed over them.
Inzamam-ul-Haq’s Alleged Revelation on Prayer Sessions
Social media users are sharing a video of Inzamam-ul-Haq saying something that sounds like it, “We had a room where prayers were conducted. Maulana Tariq Jameel used to visit us in the evening and lead us into a namaz. After a few days, Irfan Pathan, Mohammad Kaif, and Zaheer Khan also started coming. Four other Indian cricketers sat and watched us.”
Strong Refutation and Denial of Inzamam’s Claims
“Harbhajan, who was unaware that Tariq Jameel was a maulana, said ‘I am impressed with this man and want to follow his words,” Inzamam-ul-Haq added. Inzamam-ul-Haq further claimed that Harbhajan Singh said, “Tumhe dekhke ruk jaata hu (I stop after seeing you) to which I replied ‘Mujhe dekhke kyu ruk jaate ho?’ (Why do you stop after seeing me?” In response to the video, Harbhajan Singh refuted Inzamam-ul-Haq’s assertions by saying, “Yeh kon sa nasha pee kar baat kar raha hai? I am a proud Indian and proud Sikh..yeh Bakwaas log kuch bi bakte hai (What is he smoking? I am a proud Indian and proud Sikh. These nonsense people say anything).”
India-Pakistan Cricket Ties Amidst Ongoing Diplomatic Challenges
Pakistan and India are embroiled in political difficulties; India has not visited Pakistan since 2006. They have only faced up against one another in ICC competitions since 2012. At the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India, led by Rohit Sharma, defeated Pakistan, led by Babar Azam, by a margin of seven wickets in the ongoing ICC Men’s World Cup 2023.
