Suryakumar, 32, stole the show as he smashed his third century in the format and first in 2023. With the aid of 8 maximums and 6 boundaries, he needed only 45 balls to achieve three figures. While saying that his deputy made batting appear so simple, Indian captain Hardik Pandya showered admiration on him.
During the post match ceremony, Hardik Pandya said “I think he has been surprising everyone every innings that he is batting. He is just telling us that batting is so easy. If I bowling to him, I’d be disheartened on seeing his batting with the shot he plays. He has played blinders after blinders.” Pandya additionally acknowledged that Suryakumar Yadav is an experienced batter who is capable of adapting to any situation.
Continuing further, Hardik said “You don’t need to tell him anything, he knows what to do. If there is any situation where he is unsure, we have our chats but more often than now, he knows what to do.” The captain also stated that he is prepared to support his teammates in whatever circumstance and that he has been satisfied with their series performances.
