Harmanpreet Kaur: On Sunday, the Mumbai Indians cricket team won the first WPL 2023 trophy in a fascinating final game against the Delhi Capitals. The Mumbai team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, played really well and won by 7 wickets. Kaur scored 37 runs which were really important for the team, and Nat Sciver-Brunt scored 60 runs which helped Mumbai make a remarkable comeback and win the game. After the win, Harmanpreet spoke about her team in the ceremony and applauded their performances.
What did Harmanpreet say?
After the match, Harmanpreet stated, “Great experience, we were waiting for so many years. Everyone enjoyed this throughout the dressing room. It feels like a dream, for everyone here. So many people were asking when WPL will come and that day is here, and we are so happy and proud.”
Continuing further, she stated, “Very happy with how everyone performed. I think staying positive is key, we were lucky with full tosses going in our favour. This is a special moment for all of us, I have been waiting a long time and today I know what it feels like to be winning. It was a great experience and waiting for next year.”

Harmanpreet Kaur lifts WPL 2023 trophy
Coming to the match, Delhi Capitals won the toss and opted to bat first. However, they failed to make big score and were restricted to 131 runs in 20 overs despite having a 52-run last wicket stand in 4 overs. Mumbai then chased down the total by ease with 3 balls to spare.
