IPL 2024: Kolkata has been phenomenal this season. They have completely dominated the tournament and have successfully qualified for the finals of the tournament. The domination shown by them has been unreal.
There are many factors that have led to their successful campaign. Be it the management by Gautam Gambhir, smart captaincy by Shreyas Iyer, their fearless cricket, or a freak season by Sunil Narine. Everything has combined to make this one of the most dominant teams in IPL history.
But one factor that people are not noticing is the presence of Shah Rukh Khan in the dressing room with the players. He does not bring any suggestions for the players but his aura gives them enough confidence to fight against everything.
His Presence Is Enough
It is not us saying that, but even KKR’s players have accepted that fact. Skipper Shreyas Iyer has stated that SRK’s presence itself allows the team to perform better than before. It gives them enough confidence to get on the field.
“His presence itself gets that zest in the team environment. The attitude and approach automatically change. It’s the perception over here (points to the brain), and you see when the boys came on the field and everyone wanted to chip in with their contributions, and everyone delivered at the right time,” Iyer stated.
IPL 2024: A Family
Another thing that King of Bollywood brings to the table is the culture in KKR where everyone is treated as a family. Shah Rukh thinks of KKR youngsters as his own children and does everything for their success.
We all saw how much he wanted Rinku Singh to be in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 squad. Venkatesh Iyer stated that SRK’s pep talk helped him and Nitish Rana during the tough phase and his trust in them helped them improve.
“His pep talk has not just lifted me but the likes of Nitish Rana who was reeling with injury. To come back from the injury and to perform is a really big task. He’s a great franchise owner,” Venky stated. He further stated that Shah Rukh is like an elder brother to every youngster and guides them constantly.
