BCCI: A few weeks earlier, BCCI posted an application for the Indian Head Coach Position. It is one of the most desired job in world cricket and everyone would like to be part of it.
Frustratingly, that is what actually happened and now Board Of Cricket Control In India(BCCI) has a daunting task ahead of him. After seeing the surge in application it looks like posting the Google Form opened for everyone might have been a bad idea.
Amidst the flood of applications, BCCI has received almost 3,000 fake applications for the post. And now the Apex cricketing body has to sit through thousands of fake applications to sort them out.
Daunting Task For BCCI
With the application deadline closing on May 27th, many reports have indicated that almost 3,000 fake applications have been submitted. The worse thing is that many fake applications have been submitted under the names of some famous Indian personalities.
Fans around the country have used names of MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, Harbhajan Singh, Virender Sehwag, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and many more to fill out the applications.
It is not a new issue for the Cricket Board as even in 2022 when BCCI posted for the Head Coach position, almost 5,000 applicants applied for the position. And as you must have guess, many of them were fake submissions.
Gautam Gambhir For The Position?
Sources have indicated that Indian Cricket Board are very keen on Gautam Gambhir as the head coach. Gambhir recently led KKR to their third IPL 2024 trophy as their coach.
According to sources, even the former World Cup winner is keen on the position and might grab the offer.
