Wasim Akram lauded Rishabh Pant for his performance in ICC T20 World Cup 2024 and declared him as a Miracle Child.

ICC T20 World Cup 2024: The love that Rishabh Pant receives worldwide is unmatched. Almost everyone in the world loves him and is delighted by his comeback to the world stage.

Pant got into a horrendous accident in 2022 which put his cricket career at risk. It was deemed that the wicketkeeper might not be able to walk, let alone get back on the cricket ground.

But the Hero of Gabba exceeded every expectation when he made his triumphant return to IPL 2024. He was selected for the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup and has been their best batsman in the tournament so far.

‘Woh Miracle Baccha Hai’

Former Pakistan player and living legend Wasim Akram opened up about how he felt during Pant’s accident. He also referred to the left-handed batsman as a ‘Miracle Child’ and described his tale as inspiring.

Akram was relieved to see Pant back on the field and was in awe of his batting prowess. He further stated that many fans were worried in Pakistan when the accident happened, but now everyone is happy about his return.

Akram stated “The kind of performance Pant is giving after that accident, he is proving that he is a superhuman. He is doing miracles on the pitch. We saw the clips and all were worried about him. I was also worried, actually, I even tweeted about the accident.”

ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Super 8 Round

India will begin their Super 8 campaign against Afghanistan on Thursday. Rishabh Pant was brilliant in group stages and is the top scorer for the Men In Blues. He would like to continue that form and would like to score more freely now that the tournament will be in the West Indies.
