Heath Streak: In the early hours of September 3, former Zimbabwean cricketer Heath Streak sadly passed away. Regrettably, prior to his actual demise, false rumours about his death had circulated, causing distress to his family and cricket enthusiasts worldwide. Nevertheless, his family members have now officially confirmed his passing.

Heath Streak’s cricket career saw him participate in 65 Test matches and 189 ODIs for Zimbabwe, where he contributed with 1990 runs in Tests and 2943 runs in ODIs. Nevertheless, his remarkable skills as a bowler truly distinguished him, as he claimed 216 wickets in Test cricket and 239 wickets in ODIs, solidifying his status as Zimbabwe’s all-time leading wicket-taker in both formats.
Following his passing, Heath Streak’s wife, Nadine, shared a touching message on social media to honor the memory of her beloved husband. Taking to facebook, she wrote, “In the early hours of this morning, Sunday, September 3rd, 2023, the greatest love of my life and the father of my beautiful children, was carried to be with the angels from his home, where he wished to spend his last days surrounded by his family and closest loved ones. He was covered in love and peace and did not walk off the park alone. Our souls are joined for eternity, Streaky. Till I hold you again.”

Heath Streak’s passing occurred at the family’s Enthokozweni farm in Inyathi, Matabeleland North, and his father has also verified his demise. A few weeks ago, there were false reports of Heath Streak’s passing circulating on social media, initially spread by his former teammate Henry Olonga. However, Olonga later reversed his statement, indicating that the former Zimbabwean skipper was indeed alive. Unfortunately, this time, the news of the legendary cricketer’s passing has been confirmed by his wife.
