Rovman Powell: In a recent match between West Indies and South Africa, Rovman Powell, the captain of the West Indies cricket team, showed remarkable heroism by saving a young child from a serious injury. The video of his selfless act is now going viral, with fans and netizens around the world praising him.
Rovman Powell’s heroic act
While fielding during South Africa’s batting in the second innings, Powell sprinted towards the boundary line to stop the ball. However, as he approached, he noticed a young 5-year-old ball-boy standing in harm’s way. Without a second thought, Powell changed direction and jumped towards the child to protect him from getting hit by the ball. In doing so, he ended up injuring himself while jumping over the advertising boards.
After the incident, the Jamaican all-rounder Rovman Powell was visibly shaken and was immediately taken off the field for treatment. However, good news came soon after as he returned to the field during the match, and it is confirmed that his appearance in IPL 2023 for Delhi Capitals is not in danger. The incident highlights the need for match organizers to carefully select ball boys and ensure that children who are too young to be near the sport are not placed in dangerous positions.

Hendricks eventually got out on 68, but de Kock continued his assault on the West Indian bowlers and scored a brilliant century. The Proteas managed to chase down the mammoth target with 7 balls to spare, and de Kock was awarded the player of the match award for his exceptional performance.
